Having fallen in love with tattooing at the age of fourteen, Joe Myler realized that he had found his calling in life. In 1989 he opened JMD's Bodyart in Waterford's city centre. Business soon flourished with Joe tattooing and his wife Michelle becomming a professional body piercer. Over the years as the quality of work improved, Joe's status as one of Ireland's best tattoo artist also grew.

With a reputation built on recommendation, regular customers now make up a large portion of the studio's bustling trade.
